What was King David's Sin? (April 9, 2024} - Just about everybody knows of the story of David and Bathsheba. They've heard the shocking story of the ancestor of Jesus Christ and his adulteress act and his even more shameless attempts to cover up his tragic dalliance. But the Bible relates that the only one who David offended was Yahweh. According to David, he had sinned only against the Lord: "And David said to Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said to David, The LORD also has put away your sin; you shall not die." This is a bit odd when you think about it. But if you look closely, it reveals more about the nature of sin and how God acts to deal with it and punish it. First of all, the prophet Nathan is the only one besides David and Bathsheba who knew all about David's heinous acts.
